Why Lattes?

I’m sure we are all familiar with the famous saying, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” While I am a firm believer in the power of a positive mindset, let’s be real- life just feels sour sometimes. 2020 is all the proof we need! Hah. We are real people experiencing heavy emotions, and positivity doesn’t always cut through the sadness, anxiety, stress, etc…

It is so easy to get caught up in life and neglect our friendships. We are all busy with careers, ministry, being a wife, and/or mom. It’s no wonder we struggle with loneliness and often feel unseen.

Friend, there is no reason to carry life’s burdens alone!

When we are struggling to make lemonade with the lemons life has handed us, Godly friendships are a wonderful gift to have. We need that sisterhood, where we can trust each other, pray for each other, and help each other stay focused on Christ.

If we are planning to hang out and you ask me what I want to do, there’s a good chance I’ll say, “How about a coffee shop?” Maybe I love coffee a little more than the average person, but I swear something magical happens when you’re sipping a good, strong espresso (Or drip. Or cold brew. Or pour over.) in the company of great friends.

If you’ve been able to unburden, you leave feeling a little lighter than when you came in. If you were the one to listen, you leave feeling valued and trusted as a friend. If the conversation was stimulating, you may leave feeling challenged and purposeful. “When Life Gives You Lattes” is an ode to those special moments where we feel seen, heard, valued, and encouraged.

In the spirit of friendship, I’m extending an invitation to join me on a virtual coffee date where we will talk all things relationships and parenting, encouragement and advice, ministry, and whatever life falls in-between.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” -Psalm 133:1

“If either of them falls down, one can help the other up….” -Ecclesiastes 4:10

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.” -Proverbs 27:17
